I play queens of the stone age-esq rock and use this pedal not for it's octave shift but for the germanium transistor fuzz sound that it provides. It is one of the best fuzzes you will find today costing under $250.

It has an amazing ability to allow you to shape the tone of your fuzz completely. I would suggest putting an EQ in front of it in the pedal chain (a Boss Ge-7 works great) and a parametric EQ after it (can't give you the name of mine...it's a secret). With these 3 pedals and an amp with headroom your tone will be off the charts.
