I bought these strings for my purple sunburst bass. 5 strings, obviously. The coating gives a smoother slide, and they haven't worn away at all so far. I only use my fingers, so I can't comment on how a pick would affect them. They are brighter than the Dunlop strings I had before, so I had to change the settings on my combo and my bass to get the right sound for my band.
