I needed one of these stands so that I had a few guitars at the ready when recording. This eliminated having my room strewn with a bunch of open instrument cases.

The initial assembly was easy. It folds away with little fanfare. The stand olds instruments solidly and has a nice center of gravity. All the cushioning protects the instruments from nicks hand bumps that lesser stands can cause. The bottom holders have some friction to their mountings so taht they don't dump your instruments on the floor.

I would highly recommend one of these units.
