Product Description

The Catalinbread Echorec has been in the making for several years, and is finally ready to be released. This multi-tap delay is based around the legendary Binson Echorec, an arcane tube echo which incorporated 4 playback heads and a spinning magnetic drum as its recording medium. The Binson is probably most famously known for Pink Floyd's use of the unit, and has long captivated musicians for both its rhythmic and ambient characteristics.The Catalinbread Echorec has 12 programs which allow for all combinations of the 4 delay heads (something the original was never capable of.) The original also has a fixed speed, and thus a fixed delay time, while the Catalinbread Echorec can go from 40ms-1000ms. The repeats give you the ability for a single repeat or can go into spaceship feedback. The tone control is very useful, able to be tonally flat or dark and resonant on one side or bright and bubbly on the other. The mix allows for 100% wet or dry signal. Inside the pedal you have the ability to run in true-bypass or trails mode, as well as a trimmer for gain and modulation.Not only is the Catalinbread Echorec extremely versatile in its controls, the audio path was designed to be big, lush, and even more dynamic in its feel than the original. We've always designed pedals with this thought in mind, and continue to make effects that are extensions of your instrument rather than mere boxes at your feet.

I just got this and have been playing with it for about a half hour. This is the coolest pedal I have ever heard. You can do anything with it. It is easy to use and has a great sound. Unlike other delay pedals, this actually enhances the sound of my rig. Other delays just delay whatever you play, this makes it sound better. I have been laughing out loud as I have been playing because it sounds so amazing. I am putting it right on my board. Most of the reviews show this pedal with only a clean sound. Wait until you pair it with some distortion. I put it behind my Rat, Big Muff and Metal Shaman and it is incredible. Another great feature is the 9v or 18v capabilities. It doesn't have to take up my last 9v space on my SKB. It is the same size as MXR pedals so it leaves plenty of room on your board. Although it is a little more expensive than other great delay or echo pedals, it is far superior and worth the extra cost. This is so cool and I'm glad they finally made a Binson in a stompbox. As a professional gigging musician who relies on a pedal board I do need it to travel well.

While this product had the size and capability I was seeking it lacked a proper closure to prevent rain/water damage.

I've spent thousands of dollars on guitar pedals over the years and it would be insane for me to make do with any pedal board that does not CLOSE COMPLETELY!

Seriously guys, why do you not make this pedal board and bag fully sealed? Why does it have to have a large opening on the top to allow rain/water to get right in and damage the guitar pedals?

Gator Pedal Board = FAIL.

I have returned this pedal board for one made professionally and properly by SKB.

What a great item. I really just wanted a cool tin to keep my practice picks in and saw this. As Jimi is the best and I love his music I gave it a shot. Although there is no picture of the tin let me say it is stunning. It is a nice collage of Jimis face and hair made from a bunch of small images from the picks and the words, "Hear my music" at the bottom that helps set the tone for my practice sessions. Inspiration from the master guitarist. There are 12 picks (2 of each) but I really wanted the tin so it was a nice plus for me.
