it is a simple 'clean signal boost' pedal.
Meaning, it can be used to boost volume on clean channels, or drive the front end of a low/mid gain amp into breakup without having to adjust the amp controls.
For this purpose, it works exactly as described.
However, in front of a high gain channel, there is no real volume boost (which I hoped for) although it does add a nice extra bit of saturation and sustain.
Love it, no.
Like it, very much so.
Recommend it, heck yes.
For the price it beats the other pedals in its class.
Rock solid build and simple controls, what more do you need.
