It was the same preamp that was originally installed on my Sonata AE bass guitar. The only issue I had with installing it was that the mounting of the control box because the one I received did not match the curve of the guitar where the original was mounted. But that was easily taken care of with the use of a hand held hair dryer set on low so that the plastic could be heated and formed to match the curve. After installation it worked like a champ. Couldn't be happier. I used it the next Sunday at church with no problems.
The original preamp lasted me about 8 years so if I get the same use out of this one I'll be really happy. If you need a good replacement preamp this one should fit the bill.
