I got this speaker as an upgrade for the stock Marshall goldback in my DSL-401. It has made big improvement to the sound. The amp now sounds much warmer on the overdrive channels. The overdrive was always a bit fizzy and thin with the stock speaker, but now sounds like a real Marshall. The clean channel has also improved but not perhaps as much as the overdrive. The upgrade is very easy to do for anyone thinking buying one of these for a Dsl 401, it took me about 30 minutes to do, and all you need is a screwdriver. The sound is still improving the more I play it so I'm very happy.
