I think Fender did a lame job of matching their colors. I had bought a set of Strat pickups from a 57 reissue and wanted to match what Fender calls the "aged white" covers with some new knobs. I bought these knobs and they don't match that well. They are close but I think too cream colored instead of an aged white. They do not look like the picture.

I play guitar and occasional banjo in a band, and have been using this pickup transducer for a few months now so I can plug my banjo in the PA at practice and shows. I was a little skeptical of the low price, but it's been working well. I found it a little awkward to get the input for your cable to stay in place at first, until I finally secured it with some zip ties. I don't believe it came with clear installation instructions, but check YouTube for help if needed. The sound quality works for me and my band, but it probably doesn't stand up to more expensive products (which I have not tried); it sounds slightly thin and quiet to my ears. I would recommend it for the not-too-serious banjo player.

Biyang Compress X Co10 Guitar or Bass Compressor Pedal Review

This compressor has been quite surprising, as it was bought as a bit of a (researched) gamble. I have a love/hate affair with compressors, and particularly don't like the hiss that usually comes with the Dyna Comp/Ross design. Knowing that the Compress X was another D.C. clone but hearing that it had much less hiss AND was true bypass made it worth trying. As the months have gone on, I've come to use and appreciate it more and more. It does behave very much like a D.C. with the heavy squeeze at higher settings, but without all of that dreaded hiss. How Biyang did that for so low of a price is remarkable, but it makes all the difference in the world. I'm only giving four stars because I have confirmed reports from other Baby Boom users of pedal malfunctions. I doubt that mine will ever malfunction, but have to put it out there as a possibility. If you get one that doesn't work, simply exchange it for another that does - you WON'T be disappointed. I really thought that good D.C. performance would only be possible with the original compander chip - now I have confirmation that it isn't true. My only other gripe is a small one - I really don't care for the Pokemon looking cheesy graphics. I'd think that many comp users are a bit older and used to a more conservative MXR-type look. Like those goofy looking BBE pedals (I have a Two Timer delay that looks absolutely out-of-place on my pedalboard), the Baby Boom line looks like toys, which is a bit of shame. But it is easily offset by the great performance. I will EASILY choose this comp over an actual D.C. or other clones if I need another one.

I always wondered what tools I could buy and how to do the basic setup for a bass. Is obvious that buying this product won't make you a professional tech.(it's not like you will get what you need to build or customize your own bass), but could help you save money on the long run. Every three months I used to pay some tech. to check on my Fender Jazz and sometimes I payed more for an adjustment that I didn't know how to do it, but inside of me I knew it was a simple thing. When I saw this kit, read the instructions and watch the videos from Cruz Tools on bassplayer.com. I learned quick, it was very easy. When I did the first setup on my bass I realized that I did a better job than the tech. that always took care of my bass.(I'm not kidding) I finally got the action on my strings that I always asked for but the tech couldn't do, he tryed to, but always ended leaving some buzzing and I had to go back and ask him to fix it. I recomend this product, it has the basic tools for anyone to cover the basic setup, it also brings a small booklet that explains how to. It took me like an hour. Now I don't have to go crazy if I change the strings and my bass doesn't sound like it used to, now I know how to fix that and more, the best part is that I don't have to pay for it.

Electro-Harmonix Expression Pedal Review

I recently got an EX Ravish Sitar, which is an awesome effect, and can be controlled by not one, but two separate optional expression pedals - one for the pitch, and another the drone effect. This pedal is perfect for the type of effect I am after as far as pitch is concerned - start at one position, change the pitch, go back to the initial position, and leave everything there. The pedal can not be left at one specific position, e.g. half-way depressed, but for my needs that is not an issue.

Design-wise it is built like a rock. There are no moving parts, and the reverse function comes in handy quite often. Sometimes I need to recalibrate the pedal - if I accidentally press the button on the side - but that has never been a problem for me. I absolutely love the illuminated logo while the pedal is engaged.

Some people complain the pedal can not be attached to a pedalboard, which is a valid point. I read somewhere that EX is addressing that issue and is currently working on a cradle design for all its new pedals - the Crying Tone Wah, this expression pedal, and the talking one. That cradle should allow pedalboard mounting, and hopefully, the option to leave the pedal midway, or anywhere your heart desires while playing.
