I ordered 25 feet of both the white and the black cloth covered wire to re-wire my stratocasters and telecaster. The wire came neatly wound in an 8 inch plastic bag. The wire itself is fantastic. It has a sturdy waxy coating and is easy to push back in order to solder without burning the cloth. I use it in all my guitars for any wiring I need to do. I dont believe that it provides any shielding, but it is not supposed to. I have noticed a hum reduction but that is due to me shielding the cavity/pickguard with copper and star grounding.
