OK, I own one of these babies. 5 stars, not one less. First of all, you're not comparing this to one of the more expensive effects (e.g., Morely). It wouldn't be fair. Morely and the others cost lots more. The RP80 street prices for $79 and you're just not going to find more features for any less money. That said, it's not just the features. There are 11 amp presets. I thoroughly like my Crate GS60, but now (thanks to the RP80) I've got a vintage Fender, and what sounds like a Beatle Vox... so, I'm capturing sounds I've never been able to before. Next, there's more effects than you can shake a stick at, like my favorite tremolo for early 60's effects, and phaser, shifter, flanger for crazier sounds. OK, there's more... at least 30 different drum patterns that really do help develop timing and rhythm... much like a metronome, but much more fun.I bought the RP80 to add some pizazz to my home jam and practice sessions. It definitely adds pizazz. I love it. The effects are awesome, the presets provide instant access to a wide variety of syles that will keep most players satisfied for a long, long time. That said, it needs to be pointed out that the RP80 almost assuredly was not targeted towards professionals. If you are a real professional, the buy what the pros are using. If you play for fun, buy the RP80. The RP80 is for the rest of us who are satisfied with Strat & Les Paul copies and play music for the enjoyment of it all.
