I finally replaced the tuners on my '65 SG Jr. with the same (well...almost the same) Kluson's as the originals. The holes didn't quite line line up so 4 of the screws couldn't quite go in straight. The heads of the screws are so small that I couldn't get enough bite with a small screwdriver to properly seat 3 screws. Since they are tilted part of the screw is going through the old hole and part is screwing into new wood. If I get ambitious and refill and redrill the holes that might make everything right. Also the old tuners had a brassy look to the shafts the strings pass through and the new ones look chrome or nickle plated. Not a big deal but it doesn't match.I may be expecting too much but with superior machining technology available today couldn't these tuners be made to look the same but with less play in the gears? I have other newer guitars that have much smoother tuners with less play between the gears. Like the title of the review says these tuners are "just OK".
