Used it for one day, after spending a very long time researching different loopers bought it because of the foot pedal which can lower the speed, which is the one great unique feature to this looper(others can lower the pitch but not the speed), but unfortunately i am very disappointed with it for one simple reason... NO VOLUME CONTROL. U could probably edit it and get the pedal to control the volume of the loop,(of the WHOLE OUTPUT), but that requires a bunch of monkey business, and more problematic is the fact that there would still not be a separate volume control for the 2nd loop. Think about it, if you were mixing a song would you just want the volume of each track to get randomly thrown into the mix without being able to adjust the volume of each track? THAT is the most important and BASIC thing one would need to adjust. Not having separate volume control on each loop is 2+2=5 stupid, it's just dumb. (maybe that's because its not really 2 channels, its 2 loops in ONE channel, or something like that..<so that is MY fault for failing to realize that it's really essentially a ONE channel Looper, even though it has all these buttons, and 2 separate looping tracks,><for $250, there are other Loopers you can buy that will have at least 2 legitimate separate channels, which makes more sense than a bunch of bells and whistles on a one channel looper>), but anyway, they compensate for this by giving you a "limiter" feature to balance out the 2 tracks, and then give you 2 levels of intensity of limiter. Which is still basically useless. It either puts everything at about the same volume, WHICH TRUST ME YOU WILL NOT WANT. Why would you want everything exactly the same volume? or else it halfway smoothes it out but truth is, if u hit the strings a bit hard on one take, it gets recorded way louder than the other part of the loop, and its basically impossible to record it at exactly the volume your going to want to play it back at, and its way too much to think about while doing everything else during a performance, and it would not be something you WOULD have to think about if they gave you a stupid volume control(or gave you 2 authentic channels to enable separate volume controls, but they didn't.. so i give them a big thumbs down on this one. In one word i can only summarize it as "Retarded". If u get it, consider it as a machine for putting sloppy abstract experimental stuff on one track, like throwing paint on a canvas, and whatever happens, happens, since u cant adjust the volume, or u could still use it for one loop, one time.. but as soon as you put another loop over the top of the first loop, whether its on "loop 1" or "loop 2", either way, at that point, you've lost control of the mix, other than the fact that u can hit the "limiter" for whatever that is worth... and to make things worse, even with the one loop on one channel, there's no volume fader, or volume knob, for THAT, the only way is to adjust the settings so that u can use the wah-wah looking foot pedal to control THAT volume, but that thing is tough to make subtle adjustments on. You step on it, and its way too loud then its way too soft. In defense of the people at VOX it does say in the manual that u can adjust the sensitivity of the pedal,<so that criticism is not valid> truth is I havn't had patience to adjust pedal sensitivity yet cuz im thinking i will just sell the thing instead.. since theres still no way to adjust different volumes on each loop. my advice= get a Boomerang, or a Boss. VOX makes a lot of other great stuff, hate to diss them like this, but tits the worst of both worlds, its complicated to operate AND its still only really one channel anyway. If you're gonna take the time to learn to operate something with this many knobs and buttons on it, then it should at least be able to do some separate channel looping.
