Since reviewing these picks I have come to prefer other styles of picks, but it in not way reflects poorly upon Dava, since these things are all about personal preference. For that reason I have left my star rating and review (below) intact. I will just add that for my taste, I now find that I prefer picks with less flexibility. So for my tastes, the Davas offer more flexibility than I want in a pick. It may be that I'll come back to them, as guitar is a journey not a destination.

I go back and forth about which picks I like best. Must say there's not a Dava I've tried that I have not enjoyed. Maybe the metallic tip of the metal-oriented pick was a bit much, but it's still fun. I think the combo idea is excellent, and give the company two thumbs up for doing this. My personal favorites among the Davas would have to be the Jazz pick followed by the Delrin tip (quite large, but also versatile). After buying the combo pack I purchased the Jazz, Delrins and the yellow model pictured (can't recall the name). Gave one of the Delrins to a friend of mine who is a 30+ year pro, and he really took to it. All of the picks are a bit on the flexible side, so they have their place and time.

I have a problem holding onto stuff, and the Davas stay put.

I am a loyal D'Addario user. I usually buy standard strings but thought I would try the Pure Nickel. After using these on an LP Agile 3200, an Ibanez AM93 and my Strat I will not go back to the others. Warm tone, easy to bend and they seem to last though I use the GHS Fast Fret or Finger Ease to protect the strings.

Dean Guitars HS B Hardshell Case for Dean Banjos Review

My review title is kind of flippant but I really do love this case. I bought it for my Dean Backwoods 6. Because it's a six-string banjo (still a real banjo, haters gonna hate) I wasn't sure whether an ordinary banjo case would fit it, so I figured my best bet was going with a case made by the same manufacturer. It fits beautifully; the padding on this case is just tight enough to hold it absolutely firm without feeling like I am forcing the instrument in there. The exterior of the case is attractive, with that standard hardshell case texture to it. It has a little compartment under the neck that is great for storing fingerpicks or what have you.

Since my banjo is a hybrid guitar-banjo I can't personally speak to how this case fits regular five-strings, but for mine it is totally ideal.

I've tried others, like the dunlop, and my tiny dunlop jazz picks tend to fall out. This design is sleeker and holds the picks better. I have one I got in the nineties, and it's still kicking. This one matches the chrome tuners on my Brian May guitar, and more than one person has asked, "What's that?" and then responded, "Oh, cool." I'd like it better if it was metal instead of plastic, but still, it's the best pick holder I've seen. If you drop your pick it's quite quick to just slide out a new one and not miss a note. I'll post a pic so you can see how nicely it fits in with the tuners.
