Like most with vintage tube amps, I am a bit alarmed with the so-called 5Y3 rectifiers being sold these days and their higher output voltages. Well, you can relax with this one. I measured it compared with the "Made in USA" Fender labelled tube in my old SF Vibro Champ and here are the results: with 122VAC line voltage in, the Fender 5Y3 outputs a B+ of 384V and the JJ 5Y3 outputs 382V. That makes them pretty much identical. I have been practicing and gigging with this tube every week for about 6 weeks with no problems either.
