My main musical interests center around traditional country, country blues, ragtime blues and ragtime. I was looking for an alternative to enhance the bass and midrange and tone down the treble. This set did the trick. I am very pleased. I am getting the longetivity of Elixirs without the added cost. This was a good trade off. Though the set is advertised for bluegrass, I find them equally suited for other traditional styles of american music. Highly recommended.
