These days, it's a risky thing for any company who dares release any type of fuzz pedal upon the market. There's so many flavors of fuzz from the past & present that some of you may or may not be immediately familiar with. Let's get to it--what can you expect from this particular $25 fuzz? First off, it's not a buzzsaw fuzz. It's not a muff clone, and it certainly isn't a fuzzface clone. I've found that if you keep the fuzz control way low and just tweak the tone knob, one can get a really nice, natural, garage-y, filthy, mid-range-y sound with plenty of dynamic harmonics to make your ears happy. My best advice is to not think of this pedal as an actual flavor of fuzz--it's really just a flavor of GRIMY DIRT. If you're a more traditional player expecting a vintage fuzz tone, the Fab Fuzz is not for you. If you're into filthy guitar sounds with harmonic clarity, this pedal is a great choice.
