DR Strings Pure Beauties Pure Blues Electric Guitar Strings 3-Pack Review

Been playing since 1963. Then all we had were round core strings. Some feel that they will not stay in tune and have intonation problems. Simply put, this is due to improper stringing and not the fault of the round cores themselves. Hexcore strings are easier and more forgiving for poor instalation.

The Pure Blues strings are fantastic. They sound great. The feel smooth and playing is a breeze. Tone is always an issue with some players, and to me it is what I look for in an instrument. The Pure Blues strings fill the biil quite well. Great tone and play well.

However, the Black Beauties coated strings, though they sound alright, do not wow me. They feel as if my fingers are dragging on the coating and cause me grief. Almost felt as if I had rubbed them down with a can of soda and the sticky stuff was sill on the strings. I do not care for them and they came off my Les Paul within a couple of hours after trying to get the strings to break in. They are not for me.

Would have rated the package here better if not for the coated strings thrown in the mix. The Pure Blues would get a 5, but the coated strings really do stink.
